Psalm 25:9 Simple, Satisfying, Spinach Soup ![]() 2 cans Swanson's chicken broth 1 pkg frozen chopped spinach 1/2 cup rice Minced dried onion Pepper to taste Put everything into a soup pot and cook until rice is done. If you want to thicken your broth, use a little cornstarch in water and stir to thicken. Even kids like it! Mushroom Soup 2 cans Swanson chicken broth 1 package sliced fresh mushrooms Minced dried onion Pepper to taste Cook everything together on medium heat until mushrooms are done. Thicken with cornstarch if you prefer a thicker broth. I love this simple soup, especially when the weather gets cooler. Barb's Iced Coffee ![]() 1/2 gallon Half & Half 3 cups strong brewed coffee 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla I've served this to guests in our home and it was a huge hit. It's as good as anything at Starbucks, at a fraction of the cost. Mix all together. Freeze in doubled Zip Lock baggies. Take out of freezer a half hour before serving, to thaw slightly in refrigerator. You can stir to mix, or use the blender. Optional: Whipped cream on top and sprinkle with cinnamon. Delicious!! ![]()
Mindy's Beef Stroganoff ![]() This is a recipe my mother-in-law gave me when I was a young bride. It was her son's favorite dish and it has been mine too for over thirty years. Everyone loves it. I think you will too. 1 lb. Top sirloin steak Butter (I use about 4 tablespoons) 1 package sliced fresh mushrooms 1/2 cup Campbell's Consumme or beef broth 1 package Lipton onion soup mix 2 tablespoons Poupon mustard 1 cup sour cream Cooked egg noodles In large skillet, melt butter and saute steak that has been cut into thin slices. Add sliced mushrooms, onion soup mix, and consumme broth. Simmer on low until meat is tender. About 30 minutes. Add Poupon mustard and cook together. Thicken gravy slightly with cornstarch and water. Add sour cream and serve with noodles or rice. |
